SD6835 Product Overview
SD6835 is a current-mode PWM+PFM power controller IC manufactured by Silan Microelectronics, packaged in DIP-8 through-hole. It integrates a 650V high-voltage MOSFET for flyback & forward switching power supplies. It features low startup current and ultra-low standby power with frequency jitter to reduce EMI, ideal for 12~20W adapters and low-power SMPS projects.

SD6835 Key Features

The SD6835 integrates a peak current compensation circuit that maintains a stable peak current limit across different AC input voltages. A built-in output power limiting compensation circuit balances the limited output power under varying AC input voltages. A built-in slope compensation circuit accommodates a wider range of transformer applications. The maximum peak current compensation at power-up reduces transformer stress and prevents saturation. The output current limit can be adjusted via a resistor connected to the CS pin.

The controller integrates multiple protection features including UVLOOVPOLPleading-edge blanking, and thermal shutdown. Upon a protection event, the circuit auto-restarts until normal operation is restored. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting ensures the current does not exceed the set value in each switching cycle.

SD6835 Application Scenarios

Power adapters, battery chargers, DVD & set-top box power supplies, small home appliance power modules, LED drivers, industrial low-power SMPS, CCTV camera power supplies.

SD6835 Advantages

High Integration Simplifies Peripheral Circuits: The SD6835 integrates a high-voltage MOSFET and optimized gate driver, combining the controller and power switch in a single DIP-8 chip with fewer external components required.

Ultra-Low Standby Power, Energy Star 2.0 Compliant: Startup current is only 4µA, and the circuit enters Burst Mode in standby to reduce standby power consumption, compliant with Energy Star 2.0.

Frequency Jitter Reduces EMI: Switching frequency varies from 25 to 67kHz based on load, with frequency jitter to effectively reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Comprehensive Protection: Integrated UVLO, OVP, OLP, leading-edge blanking, and thermal shutdown protect the system. Auto-restart after protection events until normal operation is restored.

Flexible Current Limit Adjustment: The output current limit can be adjusted via a resistor connected to the CS pin, meeting design requirements for different power levels.

Wide Input Voltage Adaptability: Built-in peak current compensation and output power limiting compensation circuits maintain stable peak current limit and output power across different AC input voltages.
